Last night my “October-Movie-Marathon” flick number was 17. The Exorcist from David Gordon Green.
This was tasty horror flick to watch in movie theater. Movies like this gets the n the different level on the big screen…And great movie about demons who are lurking the souls of the innocent.
*SPOILER 🚨
The actresses Lidia and Olivia are too mature looking teenagers for this kind of role. Sorry to say but if you want possessed teenage looking actress on the role, there are plenty. Younger looking kids are scarier when possessed I think.
For example: “Evil Dead”…”Exorcism of Emily Rose” etc. My point is that this was clever and fresh idea when Exorcist ll aired and “Reagan” were crown up… But in the horror scenery of 2023…meh..
Don’t get me wrong, the movie was brilliant and especially that voodoo mambo jambo. I loved that kind of action already in the movie “Marked for death”, where Steven Seagal had to fight against the evil Jamaicans… Have been fan of voodoo horror ever since.
There was also Reagan’s mom, which didn’t suit on the movie, nice small detail tho.
Neighbor character instead was spot on, especially when she had encounter with the demon on the hospital.
I expected more of those tiny flashes which made this franchise so horrible. Well there was few clever ones, but the dialogue with the Demons didn’t work.
Great movie for Halloween, highly recommend!

Let’s dive in to the older movies. I watched the original again, maybe 100th time, this time with my teenage daughter.
Funny how the dialogue between the characters, which I LOVE! Felt boring said the teenager. She likes movies where clowns swim in the bloodbath with knifes. Can’t blame her, I like Art the clown as well, but classic dialogue between characters is the best on the exorcist movies.
I live in country where uncut version with “spider-walk” and many more came after millennium. I have watched the uncut version few times and it so much better than censored version
Can’t call me old fashioned, I like those new horror, splatters, slashers too.
Back to the point, can’t even show her numbers 2..or 3.
Exorcist 2 was fresh idea because Reagan has crown up, it’s different and it felt different.. it’s many many years ago when I watched this one, but there was Reagan, Merrin, bugs, time traveling and I do remember one weird cricket scene from this movie… *laughs… Perhaps I have to watch it again. If I don’t remember wrong, there was also one Voodoo priest who got possessed in some point.

Exorcist 3
“From the pencil of William Peter Blatty” The advertising on this movie was so effective. It’s the actual sequel of the original… It tells the story of that Damien… you know, who jumped out of the window!!!!
Yup, I was so hyped about this. Probably the worst Exorcist movie of all time. Can’t remember the details, but priest were in mental institution or prison… Not quite sure.

FX -Series… WHERE BEN DANIELS GIVES THE BOOT STRAIGHT TO DEVILS BLEEDING ARSE!!
Yeah, it was fun but little bit exhausting to watch. I like my exorcism experiences in movies, so I had to wait until the whole show aired… You know, because I watched the whole season without break like every normal people do…Right?!?
Like said, Ben Daniel portrayed Father Marcus was absolutely spot on, because this was straight action filled-priest hosted demon exorcism expandable/fast and furious nitro boost.. Only Vin or the Rock could done it better.

Exorcist The Beginning
This was the epic showdown battle between of two epic characters of the franchise..
Father Merrin vs monstrous demon called Pazuzu! *Ding Ding Ding!
Oh my sweet Jebu! If you haven’t watched this already, shame on you. That young Merrin portrayed by the unbelievable good Stellan Skargård and that creative director Renny Harlin. I fell in love of his work when he directed the “Nightmare on the Elm Street – 4 -Dream Master” movie. What a great visionary director he is.
Story is so intense and the dialogue between the characters works, like it worked on the original, this is the second best… So called “Father Merrin origins” GO AND WATCH IT, it’s absolutely diamond.
There is one more, released few years ago… 2015…or..2016… google it if you have to. It was William director’s cut of “The Exorcist III” which was thought to be lost. Uuu…Spooky…
This director’s cut was based on his novel “Legion”.
I haven’t watched this, because worst exorcist movie in my opinion…And if you didn’t know this was Dahmers favorite movie, which he liked to watch before going to the business. Gives me creeps to even think about it.
This was my way of saying: “I like exorcism flicks”
