Cat person eh..?

,

I have a new cat living in my house… Did not see that one coming!

About two years ago kiddo wanted a cat. Said yes, but there is some ground rules.

1. We don’t pay for cat, by we can offer food and loving family

2. All them chips in neck, vaccinations etc must be done.

3. Responsibility of the living thing ain’t no joke.

4. Sterilization or whatsoever must have been done.

Okay, so after few years, we found one cat which was looking for a new family to settle. Cat is three years old and goes by name “Viljo”… After one month the cat has finally started to move around in the house at the daytime. Cat has been very shy and hiding first weeks, but I think that normal. It’s taking what it takes. Lately the cat has come closer to me, I don’t know what he wants but stare is quite tense.

Few times I have made him make that purring sound when petted. Also he has been so energetic and playful. Although if someone makes sound he gets spooked, but we are getting there. This time I have realized that cats are unbelievably curious about their surroundings. No matter where I am doing whatsoever, he comes to see me.

I ain’t much cat person but must say, I’m interested by this animal behavior.

I have had few sheep’s at my backyard and a dog way back, doest these make me an animal person? I also feed little birds at the wintertimes.

The staring and those eyes are somewhat mystical, I’ve read from somewhere that cats see other dimensions and their eyes are the portal… Must be truth..

Kids are still too noisy for the cat, but maybe someday he will bond with them.

Funny how my wife scares the cat and she hasn’t been a cat person at all. Lately she has been interacting with the cat. Cat is probably interested of her, because she offers food.

First week’s cat was active only when kids were sleeping, but lately he has been moving around at the daytime… Of course kids are at school by day and only wife is doing work from the home office. Perhaps we are easier to understand dunno.

Back to the cat and me… It’s clearly interesting that I’m away at the daytime and when everyone else is sleeping, I’m awake. Cat is probably thinking: “Where that person is at the daytime and why is he up when everyone else sleeps..?” He was watching me last night but got sleepy in the process… good try tho..

No idea how long this takes, but I’m willing to wait, at least the cat eats every day and uses the sandbox… that’s a relief.

Teenager who wanted the cat in the first place, has build the best connection with the cat, mostly because she plays with the cat every night and makes him purring. Good for her, perhaps cat will accept us rest when enough time is given.

Yours. “Cat-person-ish” Jay
