Sun storm… aka great day for photography.

Sometimes you just hit the perfect day and boy, today was the perfect day…Or should I say: perfect evening and night. When you have lived enough in the Arctic areas, you’ll start to see beauty in everything.

Lights, snow, stars, Auroras, ice, sunsets and sunrises.. Every time of the year, you’ll find something to shoot. Animals stay hidden most of the time, but reindeers aren’t so jumpy… They are used to be photographed by tourists.

Heart of the city

Evening hours looked astonishing at the center at March. Everything is frozen and all colors are cold. There is so many things to capture with my photo gear. Sure, on the minus side I must say that weather conditions (-14C°) makes barehand actions bit harsh and battery life ain’t so great.

Reflection of the bike park

I found myself in very odd places and most of people could even question the angles, but not me no..

It must be the inspiration which guides me through the photo shoot session, because I really don’t plan my routes or shots ready.

For example, once I was visiting city called: Oulu at North Ostrobothnia, Finland.. it was middle of the January and really cold. There I was laying on the street in the middle of the night with my cam. Even local PD got interested, but let me be after they noticed the camera in front of me.

Funny thing is that, you can do many weird things if you are doing it with camera… I have to try to something REALLY weird later on, but that’s another story or post blog.

From the empty shopping center

Evening time this shopping mall was almost empty, only few people walking around. It weird because this city is normally full of tourists.

Must say from the point of view of photographer, you must observe your surroundings and scenery when ever you are moving around with camera. The best shots usually comes by accident.

Some photographers are making them self “invisible” so they can observe better, but not me. I stick out every time. I think it’s easier for the people who don’t want get in to the clicks.

Sun storm which you can see in the heading photo, was kinda cool. Sadly the Aurora Borealis was weak at that night, I could only take pictures of the tails of Northern Lights, but the stars were amazing.
