Ridiculously photogenic & great adventure of the little glass ball..

photography, photos
Well well, the heading said it all.
This tiny glass ball has been with me so many times, when I’m hunting that perfect click.

Size is were handy, when you can keep it in your pocket.
Can’t remember when, or where did I bought this, but it’s been in my pocket many years.

Small reflections from the shiny glass are just like tears or drops from the rain, except you can hold it on the lawn of your hand like it’s your greatest treasure.

Especially in the forest and at the autumn times, this works well, if you want to have different angle to your shots.

Also works well at winter time, but it’s so damn cold time to take sessions that I rather not.

Here is a few shots from the autumn walk, enjoy.
Fly agaric
Whole forest
Eye of the stump
On the road
Just when you looked trough the “looking glass ball” you realize the next shot and next shot and…

Battery always runs out before the ideas.

This shooting method at the city area is phenomenal.
Bigger the structure, smaller it looks like inside the ball.

Bridges also are quite fun to shoot inside the ball, but let’s focus to these forest cliks.

Forest and trees looks so weird and sometimes I find myself stuck, just eyeballing surrounding area.

It’s weird how you can find things to watch if you just slow down.
Sun beams
Shooter itself photobombed
“Grounding” yourself in to the ground, calms me down.
You can feel the energy floating trough your body and there is no better way to spend your time, than relaxing in the nature.

Of course the photo session like this takes time and pre work.
Spot for the ducks
Spotted the ducks and birds on my session, but flying birds were so stunning that I forgot to take photos.

Great journey anyway, next time I’m trying to take few shots.

It has downloaded straight to my brain and I can always think those beautiful spots and clicks when I’m feeling low.

Nature —> photos—> perfection… (Repeat)

Drawing, photography, photos
Oh my oh my… how I always have loved taking pictures in the nature, especially at the summer time.
All the colors and reflections with sun, are just perfect spots to shoot.

Mostly my photo sessions are at sunny days in the middle of the summer.
Let’s face it, at the winter time there is many things to photograph, like aurora borealis, but sun makes everything look so warm.

I also like to take photos in city area, but it’s a different story.

These photos you’re about to see, is taken around summer to autumn.
Inside the heart of the river”
”Hideout”
”Rainbow bridge”
”Railroad bridge”

“There is something mysterious about the river..”

Give me sun”
Reflection of the river”
Sometimes funny thing happens when you’re checking the camera roll after the photo shoot.

It’s weird when you have seen the photos trough the lens and you just know the photo is perfect, but when you watch the photo from the laptop, it blows me away.

I use three different cameras, Canon, GoPro and iPhone.
It depends on the spot which I use.

Some photos must be fixed but mostly they are just originals.

After good photo session I do have something like twenty good shots and the rest are average.

Sure my enthusiasm of the finding the perfect click, makes me destroy the most of the pictures.

These are great ones for the screen saver or for the postcards. Although, mostly I just keep them in my photo folders.

Perhaps when I’m ready to be judged, I’m going to throw a gallery somewhere, who knows…

What’s something most people don’t understand?

Midnight Sun at Arctic Circle

This is quite tricky to explain to foreign people.

In Lapland at midsummer we have this
phenomenon called: midnight sun.

People who need darkness when sleeping, can have lot of trouble getting sleep, because summertime in here is quite luminous.

Sun won’t go down, it just circles around.

At night it’s not so warm, but sun is shining.

Check these two pictures, so you can see the difference of midnight sun and afternoon sun.

If you used to live in the areas where is dark at night time, this could scramble your brains pretty good.

Afternoon sun
When you are living magical place like I do, you could think that it gets boring after a time.

Well I’ve been living here my entire life and EVERY summer still gets me stunned.

I just can’t get enough photos of this surrounding beautiful nature.

At night time I tend to go to the river canoeing just with my thoughts.
You can only hear the silence and nature calling.

Floating water is one element what I do need in my life, it makes me calm and works like some sort of drug to my inspiration.

After all these years I still find myself lost in the garden, just wondering how could I be this lucky.

So this midnight sun is one thing that I know, most of people around the globe don’t understand.

If you have a TO-DO list, visiting under the midnight sun should appear in your list.

Back in the business…

”After the mental break he comes back..”

My inspiration has worn off almost one year ago. I’ve been photographing so much lately and trying to feed my inspiration but I’m still on the starting point.

One good friend of mine told me that it comes back in time, and so it did. Summer was definitely the time when my inspiration was on the big gear. Although the years I’ve been searching my feelings and inspiration, without taking the notes I have noticed that my inspiration takes me sometimes to the “dark side” and by that I mean the state where I don’t realize time.

I have taking photos with crystal glass ball in the nature, this has been really good way to find interesting reflections from the spots..

This is definitely the best way for finding great reflections. Even though the photos are so good, no inspiration to me.

Paper and pen is still on the table waiting for me to start. Few people has asked for the sketch but no… I just cannot draw without my precious fuel.. Again new week after summer and I find myself taking pictures, here is a few take a look.

reflections are nice right? Sometimes you just need a new point of angle to see. This photo taking sessions are helping me to clear my head. Clearly I’m not finding inspiration this way but there is many others ways.

These sessions helps me to find it some day. Visiting my grandma was good idea and of course I had my camera with me.

Old sauna building near to lake has been quiet for so long… after my grandpa passed away few years ago, it has been unused.

So many things to paint and draw but only thing in my hand is camera. The man who I am is the painter and artist but still not doing anything about it.

Clearly my eyes sill is working because these photos are easy to paint/draw.

If you have ever thought about writers, musicians, artists etc, I can tell you secret. It’s not easy to find a lost inspiration, especially when you can’t just “go nuts”

That’s all for this time, maybe next time we have some sketches from the table.
