Heehaw! New photo set coming up… you’re welcome.

Misty Sunday morning on the North side of the Arctic Circle. Warm breeze feels like autumn, which is weird because it’s February and there should be horrible cold outdoors. Perhaps Al Gore was right back in the days and the global warming ain’t no hoax, dunno…

Setup ready for session

I heard knocking on my studio door and opened the door. Dear photographer friend (@igjarmophotos IG) stopped by. We had planned an epic photoshoot session at my studio. At the beginning of the idea was promo shoot for some rock band, but we turned to have some fun photo session together.

Rock band photo shoot can wait!

It took about one hour to build a perfect setup for the light in the studio. Then quick call for the model (@tanyaemilie81 IG) You can find them both from the social media platform called:Instagram. I think that it’s part of that “metaverse” so if you have an account in Facebook or Whasapp, it’ll do just fine.

Model ready

After one hour setup, model showed up to the studio door. She had several outfits and wigs with her and we were ready to start photo session.

Cigar aka “smoke machine”
Let’s light up the cigar

Hard to make smoke without the smoke machine, but the model had bad habit of smoking, so we bought her some cigarettes. Best way to make smoke is surprisingly smoke. Although those electric cigarettes or vapes are also really cool, not because those are dangerous but because you can make a shitton of smoke fast. Also hookah is good for making the foggy areas for the session…

We stayed at the cigars, because we wanted only little shades of smoke.

So back to the session. We played a lot with the studio lights. Green, red, yellow and white mixed together worked on the surroundings of the studio so nicely. Here is only few photos of the hundreds clicks we made at the session. Different positions and new lighting were used several times and many different ways.

We had two cameras on the set, Sony and Canon. (No commercial deal) Both are old and not over expensive. My semi-professional photographer friend had few expensive lenses and filters which I had never heard before. I’m amateur photographer and just learning how to use all them settings and stuff. I have good visual eye for colors and small details. That I can say to you, can’t be bought.

As my older years I have started to photograph everything and everywhere. I can spend hours in the nature or I the streets of the cities. It’s funny how small things you love to do can easily turn into a hobby. I have found myself on the bookstore, where I bought photography for dummies books for learning.

Also YouTube and other like “how to-videos” have swooped their way in my life. I’m finding all the new ways of photography and settings all the time, thank god I also have friends who are better than me and they are ready to help me with all the issues I have.

I also love to take videos and edit them, but that’s whole another story.

Hope you enjoyed these photos and my nonsense.

Yours. “Photo-Wannabe” Jay
