Some sort of addiction…

Airbrushing, Skin Art, Tattoos

Lifestyle

Tattoos has been my lifestyle since -1999 that’s the year when i took my first ink. After this i’ve been takin more and more, never enough. Nowadays my Tattoo artist has tattootime for me Once in month. I book the whole year after new years eve, that’s been my style last few years… and yes you are right! I’ve got lots of ink in my skin and more to come of course.

Working..

Most common question is:

What about your work, how can you work?!?

Just like before i was tatted, no one in my job career has ever had second though because i have ink in my skin.. And believe me or not but in my dayjob I’m only tattooed one. No-one actually cares because they all know:

I CAN DO MY GOD DAMN JOB!!!

Maybe in some workplaces it’s still all about skin color but in time that will change I think. (Yeah, I always pull out my “Skin-color-racist-card” when needed).

Future plan…

I’m just learning to use all what’s given to me and yes, I do have 10-years plan…*Secrets*
Airbrushing for change…

Last evening I made custom paint job to my skateboard helmet..

It will keep my head safe for now…

(Random person)

-what you’re going to do with your tattoos when you are older?!?

(Me)

-Dunno mate, perhaps I just grow up an epic grey beard and hang out with my tattooed friends and generally just LOOK FAKIN AWESOME!!! What about you when you look like every other old tard?

To the next time weirdos! c-Ya!

Airbrushing, Paint

Okay people, time to try how this thing REALLY works.

Airbrushing is unknown area for me but that haven’t never stopped me, just slowed down little bit…

Getting started…

There was many things to do when I prepared this motorcycle helmet. Before you start painting, all “non-paint” areas must be covered. I was using masking tape and just normal copier paper.

Mixing paint…

This was the tricky part. Using airbrush paint thinner and metal paint was easy.. Mixing it up, that was hard… Paint has to be enough thin so it comes out from airbrush and it can’t be too thick… I can’t help you out anymore but after mixing paint it’s pretty much like regular milk… (Yup, trust me)…

Airbrushing the helmet…

I used just random skull stencil for outlines and started to paint.. Layer by layer, black, white, black etc.. And last round I made those shades.

It’s enough good for first try, still I have no idea how that airbrush needs to be set but I think it comes in time…

What I learned…?

Many things… Paint mixing is really hard thing to do. Setting the airbrush is important if you want to have good steady paint flow. Covering those parts you don’t wanna paint and grinding of course. Can’t make good work if helmet is full of scrathes.. Sand blasting would probably be most effective way but I did i by sandpaper…

That’s all for now, thanks for your time…

Paintbrushing…hmm..

Airbrushing, Paint

finally bought that airbrush, there was probably cheapest version of the world and that suit well for my purposes.  $83 kit and there was: pencil airbrush, some piece of shit paint, plugs, adapters, two hoses, airgun, and of course that compressor. Next I payed a visit to local paint store and bough white and black metallic airbrushing paint $19 for can.. That’s it, now I’ve got the whole thing!

“TEST DRIVE”

No manual of course, googling and checking Youtube videos to see how this thing works. Paint thinner and paint to the mug and let’s go. First reaction was “wow!!” Works like a dream and compressor was quiet. Shading was natural and airbrush felt sharp and easy to use, cutting somekind flame stencil and helmet to the table. I wanted to do smoky ghost flames and had no idea what to do… Let’s find out!

Making of. . .

It turned pretty good and for the first time ever job I was satisfied. First white layers then black and it was ready. Approximately few hours to make this, not bad I think…

WHAT I LEARNED. . ?

About airbrush? Well sure I know now that this thing is pretty sharp to use, gotta start training to use it. Paint is very important, water based color was first try and pretty soon I realized that it won’t work with this.. It had to be different kinda stuff. I love this airbrushing already and just can’t wait next project…

To the next time. . . Ta Ta!
